9. Zola Jesus - “Lick the Palm of the Burning Handshake” - Conatus
9 and 10 pair nicely as they came out and were acquired at about the same time. It was somewhat of a coin flip as to which one came out on top, but Flo repeated the chorus one time too many. Plus this song title makes no sense, bonus, right?
So, Zola. The Wisconsin-bred renamed dyed blond goth lady with the epic emotiveness. I actually feel this more as a dance song, albeit an untraditional one. Snare FTW.
