Sharon Von Etten’s vocals often have a desperation to them, tinged with something else, at times defiance at other times insecurity and a whole other set of emotions. This one nails the balance between desperation and defiance nicely.
It has a somewhat slow pace, but feels frantic at the same time. It grabbed me the first time I heard it.
Tramp was released in the US today, go get it.
