Song of the Moment: Cursive - “Warmer, Warmer”
Album: I Am Gemini [Saddle Creek; 2012]
Genre: Indie Rock
The album itself is pretty dense in terms of concept. Twins separated at birth, one good one evil. The booklet with the CD has stage direction and attributes lyrics to different characters, but are all sung by Cursive’s lead singer Tim Kasher (my favorite narcissist).
As a result, it’s not exactly a “singles” record. That being said, “Warmer, Warmer” does a decent job of standing on its own. Just don’t try to extract too much meaning from the lyrics. He almost lost me towards the end with the sounds-like-a-fadeout farmer/carving knife stuff, but then the music kicks in again, which is worth hanging around for.
